Nowadays, after-class activities are becoming more and more popular in high schools.

 

After-class Activities

Nowadays, after-class activities are becoming more and more popular in high schools. In our school, there are various kinds of activities, for example, arts and sports. We enjoy them very much. Playing football and reading stories are my favorites which do me lots of good. Besides building my body and enriching my knowledge, they also free me from the heavy work of study.

Here I have some suggestions. To students, you’d better choose the activities which interest you and suit you; to schools, they should organize more activities for students and leave students more time for activities by giving them less homework.

Dear friends, please actively take part in after-class activities, which will not only make your school life colorful, but also improve you learning.

Dear Mr. Headmaster, 
    I am Li Yue, a student from Class 1, Senior II. I am writing to draw your attention to some improper behavior among us students: littering and scribbling. It makes our school dirty and unpleasant, and does harm to the image of our school. I always feel ashamed whenever I see such incidents.              

It is clearly not appropriate for a student to litter and scribble everywhere. I wonder if the school can place more dustbins around campus and set up specific rules against such behaviors. At the same time, students should be encouraged to develop good habits and behave themselves. I believe that, with the joint efforts of both teachers and students, our school will become a more enjoyable place.

                 It pays to Be Honest

Nowadays there are still many people acting dishonestly, for example, cheating, overcharging, producing or selling fake commodities, etc. The main reason for these dishonest acts is the desire to make a huge profit. However ,in the long run, dishonesty will bring many disadvantages while it pays to be honest. The following reasons can support the argument.

    Undoubtedly, being honest is not only beneficial to others but also to ourselves. If you are honest, you will win trust and respect from others. Furthermore , honesty  can build up a more stable and harmonious  society. For example, Singapore, which is a society of trustworthiness and integrity has a comparatively low criminal rate. In addition , being honest is essential for a country’s survival in the modern world , since an honest country would win support from other countries if it were in trouble.

    All mentioned above tell us that it pays to be honest. Only in an honest society can people enjoy their life fully. Therefore, we should foster the spirit of honesty and eliminate dishonesty in our society.

Will Our Traditional Cultures Evaporate as the Technology Is Developing?

 Nowadays , the technology is developing at a surprising speed. Some people believe traditional cultures will evaporate as the technology is developing. However , others maintain that traditional cultures can co-exist with the development of technology.

 Those who hold the first opinion believe many inventions of the modern technology have created a high-efficient life for us , and thus are superior to those that come from the traditional cultures.They maintain traditional cultures sometimes even hinder the advancement of the society , so they are doomed to evaporate. However , still others think differently. In their opinion , only a small fraction of the traditional cultures that are not suitable for the modern society will disappear. Besides, they argue that traditional cultures are the impetus to modern science and technology.

  Weighing up these two arguments, I am inclined to the latter one. For one thing, traditional cultures are the great heritage of human beings , and they won’t disappear easily but will be changed considerably  suit the modern society. For another , people have realized the importance of the traditional cultures and given them great protection. Taking above –mentioned factors into consideration, we may reasonably conclude traditional cultures

will co-exist with the development of technology
